What is IPL photo-rejuvenation used for?

Living in Las Vegas, it's a never ending process trying to protect your skin from the sun. Sunscreen, Hats, & Sunglasses are a go to for us living out here in the desert. So, what is IPL photo-rejuvenation used for and how can it help?

Photo-rejuvenation (IPL – Intense Pulsed Light) laser treatments, often referred to as IPL laser photo-rejuvenation, Photofacials or Fotofacials can treat a multitude of common skin conditions and concerns.

IPL helps to improve & control skin flushing by reducing redness caused from rosacea & broken blood vessels. With this, skin texture & tone improves through stimulated collagen production which will reduce enlarged pores. But, IPL Photofacials are most commonly used for lightening and removing sun spots, age spots, and brown blotches all over the body.

The laser/IPL device emits a range of light waves that are targeted and pass through the skin. These are absorbed by hemoglobin & melanin in the skin rendering troublesome spots areas visible.

For the best results laser photo-rejuvenation requires between 3-5 treatments, once every 4 weeks. You will see significant improvements after each treatment, but every patient is different. Typically the more sun damage or redness you have, the more treatments you will need. The good news is that our treatments will last between 30 minutes to 1 hour but this depends on the size of the area you’re having treated. Don’t worry, we will give you specific instructions prior to your first treatment but you should avoid self-tanners and excessive sun exposure 2-4 weeks before your treatment.

Be careful of low cost IPL specials. There are a lot of IPL Photofacial Lasers out there that have much less power than our IPL treatments sold in a Doctor’s medical center like ours.

Other treatments may appear less expensive but do not have the same power or the expertise of a medical professional operating the laser. IPL Photofacials when used incorrectly can also cause serious damage to the skin. You always want to have a doctor on site during your treatment where the lasers are being operated.
